The General Ledger Accountant ensures accurate financial records by managing the general ledger, overseeing month-end close, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role includes providing support to the UK, Nordics (Norway, Sweden), with a primary focus on the UK.
As a General Ledger Accountant, you’ll be at the heart of our financial operations, playing a vital role in a dynamic and international environment. This position can be located in our Lincoln office in the UK, or in our Leusden office in the Netherlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly closing process, including journal entries and corrections.
- Prepare accurate financial reports, tax returns, and required declarations.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and analyze financial data.
- Support audits and coordinate with external accountants and tax authorities.
- Provide guidance to finance teams and act as a liaison for subsidiaries, with a primary focus on the UK.
- Improve financial processes by optimizing systems and procedures.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Finance or related field of study.
- Experience: 3+ years in a similar role or within an accountancy firm.
- Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial software and Excel is required. Experience in NetSuite and Salesforce is beneficial but not required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in English.
