Overview
As the Director of Marketing Automation and Analytics, you will oversee the strategy, implementation, and optimization of marketing processes and technology to drive efficiency and effectiveness in marketing efforts. This role involves managing marketing automation systems, data analytics and cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive and high-performing marketing activities. The individual will drive data-driven decision-making to maximize revenue generation across the organization. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of marketing operations, marketing automation, and customer lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement marketing automation strategies aligned with the overall marketing and business objectives. Drive innovation in MarTech stack usage.
- Thought leadership in leveraging marketing automation tools, data/insights in creating marketing campaigns and initiatives to achieve business objectives. Collaborate with the CMO, Marketing Operations and other senior leaders.
- Own the marketing operations roadmap, ensuring marketing technology is evaluated, selected, implemented and customized to meet the needs of marketing. Oversee the marketing technology stack, ensuring tools and platforms are integrated and used effectively.
- Marketing Automation:
- Oversee the development and management of marketing automation workflows and campaigns.
- Ensure marketing automation tools are used effectively to drive engagement and conversion.
- Develop and manage training plans, documents to drive effective usage of MarTech stack.
- Data and Analytics:
- Oversee marketing analytics and reporting, providing insights and recommendations across customer journey to improve marketing performance.
- Track and report on the entire marketing funnel including volume, velocity, conversion stage-to-stage, pipeline, won deal and average deal value; make sure funnel measures can be analyzed by key dimensions such as industry, geo, product and persona. Monitor and report on marketing spend and ROI.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all marketing systems and platforms.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing operations.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for marketing processes.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Regularly inform stakeholders across marketing, sales, and finance of insights on marketing performance to ensure cross functional alignment on the best possible data-driven marketing strategy.
- Work closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and support for marketing initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between marketing and IT to manage technology needs and projects.
- Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure marketing activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Manage data privacy and security in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in marketing automation and data analytics or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Proven experience with marketing automation platforms (Pardot, Salesforce, CRMA).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, CRMA, or similar.
- Experience and knowledge of Google Analytics.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in marketing analytics and reporting tools.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of managing complex projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
