The purpose of the role

In the organisation’s Supply Chain & Operations function, the demand planner has a key strategic role in preparing the organisation, driving improvements for the future. They analyse, and forecast the demand for products, driving business performance through influencing the connected business functions of Commercial, Supply Chain & Manufacturing.

 

Responsibilities

 

Analysis of data to drive recommendation for business improvement: 

  • Lead/own historical data analysis related to consumer behavior and identify patterns and trends to produce informed forecasts to support demand planning.
  • Interpret data on consumer demand, sales performance, inventory levels, and production statistics, using spreadsheets, SQL queries, and databases to gain insights into product-specific demand patterns.

 

Report production: 

  • Develop reporting tools and use the output to influence and support key stakeholders’/functions’ business decisions.
  • Responsible for data accuracy and improvements, driving appropriate stock levels, optimal inventory and reducing/minimizing obsolete stock, ensuring all required documentation is received and collated to maintain an audit ready status.
  • Close collaboration with Sales and strategic customers to create accurate sales forecast, looking for ways to continually improve the process.

 

Collaboration across key business functions

  • Responsible for providing factual data to multiple functions such as Commercial, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, enabling key business decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders to align production and customer demand.
  • Use expertise to provide accurate predictions which contribute to the overall efficiency of the organisation, with a particular focus on short shelf-life products.
  • Plays a pivotal role within key strategic projects that will drive business performance.  May be called upon to lead smaller projects feeding into the overall strategic direction of the business

 

Requirements

  • Master’s in Engineering, Supply Chain or similar
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in SC Process Optimisation in Demand.  Inventory optimisation experience is an asset.
  • In-depth practical knowledge of Demand Planning. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the role’s impact on customers – internal and external
  • In-depth understanding of the impact of new product introductions, delistings and the bi-annual product churn on the business
  • Works independently, is analytical, likes to work with numbers and has advanced level of Excel proficiency
  • Knowledge of PowerBI. Demand and Supply Planning Optimisation tools is an asset
  • Good communicator, proficient in working with Sales teams
  • English Fluency. Dutch and/or Spanish is an asset
  • Actively seeks self-development and new ways to grow
  • Able to work collaboratively with others across Supply Chain to meet shared objectives
  • Demonstrated effective multitasking and active learning skills
  • Influence local teams to get alignment and proficient in working with different cultures
