Senior Database Developer

This position must be located in the Washington, DC area.

What You Will Work On

• Develops PL/SQL code and Oracle stored procedures for a large government database
• Develops ETL processes using external tables, SQL*Loader control files, Linux shell scripts
• Works with the data architect to implement new designs or modifications
• Investigates and mitigates database performance issues
• Understands the underlying components of the logical and physical layers of Oracle, including data files, tablespaces, partitioning, and compression

What You Will Bring

• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
• Ability to pass a Public Trust background check is a must
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/5 years of relevant experience
• Must be well versed in Oracle PL/SQL and stored procedures

• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently to solve problems
• Experience with SQL Developer, TOAD or other development tools
• Experience with Oracle collections
• Experience mitigating database performance issues using Explain Plan and other tools
• Experience evaluating business requirements for databases
• Experience with various ETL tools and methods of transferring data
• A basic understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting
• Oracle APEX development experience is a plus
