POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Co-op will participate in month-end closing procedures, including journal entry preparation, general ledger account reconciliation and account analysis, as needed, as well as on-going transaction processing. This position is primarily focused on general ledger accounting, ad-hoc analysis, and will assist the Assistant Controller in ensuring accurate financials are maintained in compliance with US GAAP. This position will also participate with other areas of general accounting, as assigned, and will support routine financial analyses and participate in special assignments, including implementation of process improvements and control enhancements.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Month-end close assignments and accounting entries that may include cash,prepaids, fixed assets, intangibles, royalties, rebates, and departmental accruals
  • Monthly reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts to detail support
  • Variance fluctuation analysis on assigned general ledger accounts and/or department spending
  • Assist with P.O. accruals for assigned departments
  • Prepare and distribute routine monthly operational reports
  • Support auditors, and other parties as requested by management
  • Follow policies, procedures, and control enhancements related to assigned areas
  • Participate in various Finance projects as requested

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Workingknowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Effective computer, verbal communication and written/report writing skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to communicate within the organization and to external parties
  • Basic accounting/GAAP knowledge
  • Detail-oriented with appropriate organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prepare accurate analyses and reconciliations

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly walk, sit, andstand as needed
  • Occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
