YOUR PROFILE

 

You are recognized for your initiative, efficiency, and knowledge of renewable energy production particularly storage project (BESS). You are passionate about your work, and you thrive on working in a dynamic and multidisciplinary workplace. You would like to join a dedicated and pioneering team of experienced professionals in the renewable energy field.

 

YOUR CHALLENGES

 

Boralex is a major renewable player, with high growth target.  In your position, you will work on new assets developed and built by Boralex.  Reporting to the Asset Manager Storage, you will be responsible for managing BESS assets in Ontario. In your role, you will have the following responsibilities:

 

  • Manage day-to-day activities of three (3) storage sites.
  • Supervise a team of a BOP technician.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from the construction to operation of these three (3) sites with a safe and efficient start-up.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in health and safety by maintaining a safe and healthy workplace and ensuring the O&M compliance.
  • Implement and maintain good management practices for operations, maintenance and all other administrative aspects of the sites managed.
  • Manage Long-term service agreements with manufacturers.
  • Ensure the sustainability and profitability of the sites.
  • Participate in the budget process and manage the budget on a daily basis.
  • Team working with the Asset Management team to analyze production and financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with site commitments: operating permits, owner agreement, contractor contracts, etc.
  • Maintain and improve relationships with community stakeholders (landowner, utilities, etc.).
  • Identify value creation opportunities with the Energy trader, Engineer, the Optimization team.
  • Recommend implementation strategies and work with other services to execute these value creation opportunities.
  • Play an active role in communications between the sites and head office.

 

YOUR SKILLS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, any other relevant degree, or any equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant experience, and experience with major BESS project.
  • Maintenance management and operational performance improvement, employee development and supervision as an asset.
  • Understanding of the operating rules and regulation surrounding energy production assets (ex: NERC, IESO, etc.).
  • Leadership, autonomous, dynamism communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Rigorous and show flexibility and availability.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office.

 

Mobility is required for this position as you will have to travel to sites on a daily basis.
