YOUR PROFILE

As a key contributor to Boralex team, you will play a vital role in execution of strategic solar projects and contribute to development of the Procurement organization in Boralex in general. We are looking for a mature professional in procurement or strategic sourcing with an experience in execution of large complex contracts in a large industrial company. You must exhibit strong project management skills and a proven ability to build relationships with different stakeholders of an organization. You have experience in the energy sector and knowledge on the solar energy technology. You thrive on working on several projects at once, and you would like to work for a pioneering Canadian company, with strong human values, in the renewable energy field. 

YOUR CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Director, Procurement, you will organize and lead Boralex’s procurement of key equipment and services with the main focus on support of the execution of Boralex’ solar projects.

Working closely with various groups within Boralex, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Leads market intelligence to identify and seek competitive advantages by partnering with world-class suppliers in the solar energy industry.
  • Provides expert recommendations to internal stakeholders on the solar energy market and its development, the risks and opportunities.
  • Work with development and project management team on projects` schedule and budget preparation and optimization.
  • Lead preparation of RFIs and RFPs in line with Boralex’ standards, organize and manage commercial evaluation of vendors’ proposal with multi-disciplinary team composed of specialists from engineering, development, project management, finance and other teams.
  • Negotiate commercial terms of deals for purchasing major equipment and services for the solar projects execution.
  • Organize multi-disciplinary team for contract agreements negotiations with vendors and obtaining approvals from different administrative bodies for contracts signing.
  • Organize of contracts execution control, equipment and services purchasing, support vendors in logistic and storage organization,
  • Lead solving possible issues and disagreements with vendors during projects execution;
  • Lead work with vendors to support Boralex CSR strategy;
  • Assist with the procurement of components for other projects (wind and energy storage) depending on tasks flow;
  • Contribute to the development of procurement function by bringing ideas, feedback, and requirements from own area(s) of responsibility.
  • Other duties within the procurement team responsibilities.

NB This position includes occasional travel in North America and abroad.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s or Master`s degree in administration, engineering or equivalent;
  • From 10 years of experience in an industrial company, preferably energy or construction, including from 5 years in procurement or supply-chain management or project manager;
  • Experience in leading contract negotiation and contract management of contracts with value more than 10 mln;
  • Experience in the utility-scale solar projects execution;
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in multi-functional projects implementation;
  • Experience working in or with global international business;
  • Good project-management skills and experience in it:
  • High level of negotiation skills;
  • Strong user of Microsoft Suite;
  • Team-player,, ability to work effectively under pressure;
  • High proficiency in French is highly desired. Knowledge in Mandarin Chinese is an asset; 
  • Established professional network among solar industry players is an asset.
