Position Summary

The Benefits Administrator position responsibilities involve the day-to-day administration of employee health and welfare benefit plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and other group insurance plans and programs.

The Benefits Administrator provides excellent customer service to our employees and partnership with our internal departments and outside vendors in our goal to provide comprehensive health and welfare plans to our teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Mass uploads and data maintenance in the Human Resources system.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data
  • Manage and audit third party file feed for accuracy.  
  • Assisting with the administration of all benefits including medical, dental, vision, life etc
  • Administer the Leave of Absence process and work with payroll for the payments
  • Focal point for the Benefits Annual Open enrollment process
  • Ensure HR data integrity with monthly audits providing feedback to management for support and guidance
  • Handle reporting needs from business for HR, Payroll and other functions as required.
  • Advise employees and answer questions on benefits
  • Process leaves of absences in system for Short term disability, FMLA absences etc.
  • Appeal decisions made by insurance companies, resolve disputes, and solve problems with benefits programs
  • Manage the benefits billing process, including audits
  • Reconcile benefits with payroll entries and arrears
  • Create and document HR processes as required.

Essential Skills

  • Understanding of HRIS systems and configurations. Dayforce experience is a plus.
  • Must be efficient in Excel. Use of vlookup, pivot tables, formulas etc.  
  • Self starter
  • Research and analytical skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and laws
  • Familiar with payroll processes (union payroll a plus)

Education Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of related experience

*role is Hybrid, working in office Tues, Wed, Thurs.
