Merchandiser
Job Summary:
The Merchandiser plays a key role in maximizing product visibility and driving sales in retail stores. This position is responsible for stocking shelves, rotating products, maintaining and refreshing in-store displays, and ensuring that cooler products are organized and rotated according to company standards. The Merchandiser works closely with retail buyers and store personnel to ensure all products are positioned for maximum impact.
Essential Functions:
• Maintains consistent communication with sales representatives regarding account sales and updates.
• Ensures beverages are properly rotated for freshness by checking expiration dates and removing damaged or expired products from shelves.
• Stocks and organizes orders in stores upon receiving deliveries from the warehouse.
• Sets competitive pricing for products within stores.
• Secures shelf space and constructs attractive displays at various accounts to maximize visibility.
• Installs point-of-sale (POS) materials, including shelf talkers, wine racks, bottlenecks, signs, banners, and posters.
Required Education and Experience:
• Minimum high school diploma, college degree preferred
• Previous experience in restaurants, wholesale, or related industries
• Attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with store teams is essential to success in this role.
• Good time management skills
• Knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and tobacco preferred
• Basic math skills required
• VI driver’s license, and car required.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Requires availability for evening, weekend, and holiday work schedules.
Physical Requirements:
• Physical demands may include bending, keying, listening, reaching, seeing, standing, and walking
• Medium lifting requirements with occasional heavy lifting Equipment includes calculator, hand truck, typewriter, printer, personal computer, photocopier, telephone, etc.
