The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers.  To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Bureau of Equitable Health Systems (BEHS) is a bureau in the Division for Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) located at 42-09 28th Street, Long Island City, NY.

 

Our division is devoted to strengthening the Department’s ability to strategically partner with the NYC health care system. The bureau engages primary care providers and other healthcare organizations to implement evidence-based strategies; leverage information to support planning and technical assistance for providers and payers; advance policy to close the racial equity gap for priority health outcomes; and surface opportunities where health care can influence and connect consumers to social support and address the whole person, beyond physical ailments. BEHS operates NYC REACH, helping New York City providers to implement new health care delivery models and quality initiatives, participate in payment reform programs, and connect to community and health resources to support their patients. POSITION OVERVIEW

BEHS is seeking a Program Coordinator for the NYC REACH Communications and Operations team. The coordinator would provide administrative, documentation, and communications support, including:

 

  • Project Management and Administrative Support:
    • Tasks will include:
  • Maintaining systems for systematically tracking project progress in an organized, efficient way
  • Facilitating internal meetings, including agenda preparation, recording of minutes, and monitoring/following up on action items
  • Preparing status reports, PowerPoint presentations, and other materials with a high attention to detail and understanding of audience
  • Communicate with Healthcare and Community Stakeholders:
    • Tasks will include:
  • Conduct phone calls and email outreach to recruit practices and provide updates for NYC REACH programs and initiatives
  • Manage inquiries received in NYC REACH’s public communication channels and route requests, comments, and issues to the appropriate resource
  • Support the execution of NYC REACH events, webinars and trainings (e.g., host and assist with on-site and virtual event logistics)
  • Data Reporting and Documentation:
    • Tasks will include:
  • Data entry for membership enrollment, events, and webinars, as well as any other external-facing activities
  • Working with team to develop key metrics and reports for internal team performance and for practice/provider progress on goals 
  • Tracking and reporting this progress using different tools, such as Salesforce and Excel

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates a commitment to achieving health equity
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM software, Zoom and Sharepoint is a plus, but not required
  • Willing to travel within the 5 boroughs and be available for an adjusted schedule if needed for events
  • Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism

 

SALARY 

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - 65,000

This position will operate in-office, with the potential of shifting to a hybrid work schedule and is located at 42-09 28th Street, Long Island City, NY.
