Surveillance Technician

 

The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between the government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.

 

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) is the nation's leading public health agency, protecting and promoting the health of all New Yorkers. DOHMH aims to improve the health outcomes of all New Yorkers by centering persistent racial inequities and promoting social justice at the core of its work. The Division of Information Technology aims to align technology solutions with the DOHMH mission by prioritizing resource use and deploying innovations that facilitate the agency’s day-to-day activities and enhance staff productivity and efficiency. Our goal is to provide users with a reliable, stable, and safe computing environment through the collaboration of the Bureau of Technology Strategy & Project Management, which provides business analysis and IT project management services to define and deliver IT solutions that meet all program needs.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Technician will provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of desktop systems, hardware, and software. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-oriented approach.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support for desktop systems, software, and hardware issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Assist with network connectivity issues and basic network troubleshooting.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Network Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of communications protocols and network concepts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications with a concentration in Microsoft Outlook e-mail Client
  • Enterprise mobile device management support and recent experience with AirWatch MDM
  • Detail Oriented
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to manage time commitments while managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Android and Ios
  • Proven experience as a Desktop Technician or in a similar technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, network protocols, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

SALARY

  • Salary range is $50,000 to $60,000.

 9 AM – 5 PM

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT

You must live in New York City Tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) in order to be considered for a position at FPHNYC.
