This is a fast-paced, dynamic position and an ideal fit for someone who thrives on wearing many hats to support strategic accounting initiatives that optimize our productivity. You will have an opportunity to collaborate with our global team and utilize problem-solving skills and attention to detail to support cross-functional initiatives and drive efficiency.

This position will focus on the following:

Financial Statements and Auditing

  • Assists in producing accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Responsible for month end closing and the financial reporting process, including account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Assists with the annual external financial audit.

Timely and Accurate Entries, Posts, and Invoices

  • Schedules, maintains, and manages all assigned project activities.
  • Posts employee timecards and expense reports.
  • Accurately enters accounts payable invoices, obtaining proper approvals.
  • Assists in preparing and filing workers compensation or license renewals.
  • Maintains fixed asset software, runs reports, and records depreciations.
  • Prepares and maintains general ledger entries and reconciliations for month end closings.
  • Generates invoices and ensures they, along with expenses, are processed accurately and timely.
  • Maintains accurate data in the Acumatica system, including new tasks, revenue and expense budgets, and client bill rates.
  • Invoices intercompany, domestic, and/or international clientele.
  • Assists with bank reconciliations, as needed.
  • Acts as a back-up to payroll.

Financial Reporting

  • Assists with the production and analysis of project profitability and budget vs. actual reports.
  • Reviews proposals for specialized billing of fixed price projects.
  • Analyzes aged accounts receivable reports and notifies project managers of overdue accounts.
  • Assists with state contract revenue reporting requirements.
  • Prepares account analysis and transaction investigations.
  • Maintains general ledgers and financial reports.
  • Researches financial issues.
  • Assists in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Captures, documents, and communicates project information.

 

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of previous experience as an Accountant or in a similar role is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and Enterprise Resource Management Programs.
  • Experience preparing budgets and reporting on variances.
  • Experience using Acumatica, SQL Query writing, Crystal Reports or Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
  • Experience with reconciling and generating invoices in an efficient, accurate manner.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, as part of a team, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are required; intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.

Location: On-site in our Lakewood, NJ HQ Office

Schedule: Normal hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Salary Range: $85k - $95k annually
