Position Summary:

Reporting to Corporate Executive Chef, the Junior Culinary Technician supports our corporate chef’s external relationships with their culinary experience, in a dynamic and innovative environment.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Chefs with business needs from a culinary perspective including developing gold standards, supporting innovation initiatives, and assisting sales and R&D teams in product development and customer ideation.
  • Develops gold standard prototypes, aiding in the development process.
  • Executes concept development for Sales & Marketing programs.
  • Provides culinary guidance to scientists on specific projects.
  • Assists the execution of culinary customer presentations and marketing programs.
  • Creation and preparation of dry and liquid lab samples.
  • Maintains culinary center in overall cleanliness, performing cleaning duties when necessary.
  • Is responsible for all tracking and maintaining inventory of culinary samples.
  • Assists in ideations and prototype sessions for customers.
  • Provides culinary support to other departments for special projects.
  • Keeps up to date in culinary skills.
  • Manages multiple projects and timelines.
  • Maintains good records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Understands and follows all security policies.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Culinary / Food Science related degree/diploma program from a recognized university or college.
  • General food science courses or technical food science is an asset.
  • Experience working in a culinary environment is an asset.
  • Must be self-motivated and a team player.
  • Strong organizational and communicational (written and verbal) skills are essential.
  • Must be able to multitask and meet timelines consistently. Computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel) are an asset.
  • Member of RCA or CCF an asset.
