Griffith Foods is a global manufacturer of food products.  We provide a wide range of taste and texture components for food industry customers throughout the world.  Our products include seasoning blends, dry mixes, coating systems, dough blends, crumbs, flavors, sauces and food bases that are used in an extensive variety of application from snack foods and processed meat and poultry to ready meals. Our customers include food processors, restaurant operators and grocery retailers.  While our name may not be familiar to consumers, our products are key components of foods offered by many of the world’s best-known companies.

Summary:  Provides laboratory and technical assistance to Manufacturing and Quality Systems. Conducts laboratory tests of materials and inspection of packaged products to determine approval and reports results

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs sensory, physical, and chemical tests on finished products to assure they meet established specifications
  • Evaluates Bill of Material (BOM) for completeness and proper documentation.
  • Records test data and maintains laboratory work list in LIMS system to assure timely release of finished products.
  • Reports nonconformance with immediate corrective actions in LIMS system.
  • Performs required inspection for manufacturing equipment, storage equipment, and sanitation cleaning.
  • Participates in check sample program with outside institution(s) and in internal proficiency program to verify accuracy.
  • Follows proper GMPs and GLPs.
  • Uses proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
  • Assists with Raw Material testing, COA review, and COA filing as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/Chemistry or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience (minimum of 6 months) in a Laboratory or food company or Associates degree with 2 years’ experience in a food processing company with exposure to quality assurance/control/testing.
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and small groups.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English language.
