Although Hajoca is a large company, we work in a decentralized environment where each of our locations, called Profit Centers (PCs), is run by the Profit Center Manager as if it were their own small business. A typical Profit Center is the heart of our business and consists of a warehouse, counter, sales office, and (sometimes) a showroom. Our PCs conduct business under unique trade names and offer a customized business approach, honoring what’s special about each local marketplace.

Best Plumbing Tile and Stone is one of those trade names and is looking for an Assistant Manager at their Scarsdale, NY location. 

Pay for this position is between $60,000.00 and $75,000.00 per year at this location.

About the Role: 

   You will: 

  • Work with the Profit Center Manager in developing and executing strategies to drive sales and profitability, ensuring that sales, gross profit, and profit sharing goals are achieved.  

  • Act as the Manager when the Manager is not onsite. 

  • Assist with the recruitment, development, training, coaching, evaluation, and management of the Profit Center team. 

  • Analyze performance data and implement appropriate strategies to increase sales, improve operating efficiencies, manage assets, and increase ROI and profit sharing. 

  • Assist with servicing customers, inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehousing and sales as part of the Profit Center Team. 

  • Build relationships in the community to understand the marketplace, increase market share, and identify new markets. 

  • Maintain and insist upon a safe working environment in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards, OSHA, DOT, and any other applicable regulations. 

  • Safeguard and maintain all Profit Center assets – buildings, fleet, equipment, inventory, and receivables. 


About You: 

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience 

  • Minimum 2+ years wholesale distribution experience 

  • Minimum 1+ years management experience, supervising staff preferred 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain customer and vendor contact files, appointments and to analyze performance data 

  • Product knowledge related to the specific Profit Center market preferred 

  • A proper and valid driver’s license for the vehicle(s) being driven 

  • A driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy
