SOC Manager

Job Summary: 
 
As the Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager, you will lead and manage the GSOC team to provide unparalleled security services. This role demands a relentless commitment to meeting industry standards and setting new benchmarks for security professionals. As the SOC Manager, you will also identify, track, assess, monitor, mitigate and help manage known and emerging risks to our clients, in addition to providing incident response & triage, travel risk support, security assessments, online research and investigations. You will monitor a wide variety of threat vectors including geopolitical events, civil unrest, natural hazards, crime, terrorism, and cyber-kinetic events.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
 
1. GSOC Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of highly skilled security professionals, cultivating a culture of excellence, discipline, and innovation. Promote teamwork, growth, and professional development. 
 
2. Strategic Vision: Develop, communicate, and execute the GSOC's strategic vision, aligning it with the company's global security strategy. Continuously elevate the capabilities and efficiency of the GSOC. 
 
3. Operational Oversight: Ensure seamless 24/7 operations of the GSOC, with an unwavering focus on threat detection, risk assessment, and incident response. Ensure the highest level of readiness. 
 
4. Security Protocols: Establish and enforce stringent security protocols, including access control, incident reporting, and response procedures. Stay informed of the latest global security trends, integrating them into GSOC operations. 
 
5. Technology Integration: Stay at the forefront of security technology, overseeing the integration of cutting-edge tools and software into GSOC operations. Enable proactive threat identification and response through the effective deployment of security systems. 
 
6. Crisis Management: Develop comprehensive crisis management plans and lead the GSOC team in handling critical incidents effectively, minimizing impact to clients. Continuously refine and enhance response strategies. 
 
7. Risk Analysis: Conduct ongoing risk assessments, threat analysis, and vulnerability management. Adapt strategies to mitigate emerging threats and develop a culture of proactive threat prevention. 
 
8. Global Coordination: Collaborate with regional security teams, law enforcement agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination in the event of a security incident. Build strong partnerships with law enforcement personnel. 
 
9. Security Program Development: Develop and implement comprehensive security programs that meet or exceed industry standards. Regularly assess and enhance the effectiveness of security programs to stay ahead of evolving threats. 
 
10. Meeting Industry Standards: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the GSOC's performance against industry standards. Develop and execute plans to reach and surpass these standards. 
 
11. Law Enforcement Liaison: Maintain ongoing communication with law enforcement personnel, sharing intelligence, and establishing strong working relationships. Collaborate on investigations and emergency response plans. 
 
12. Team Development: Mentor, train, and develop GSOC staff, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to meet the highest standards in security operations. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 
 
13. Reporting: Provide detailed reports to senior management and clients, offering insights, metrics, and recommendations to enhance security measures. Ensure transparent and effective communication channels. 
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
 
1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees and industry certifications preferred (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP). 


2. A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in security operations, including a substantial track record in managing a GSOC. 

3. Proven experience in team leadership and strategic planning. 


4. In-depth knowledge of security technologies, threat intelligence, and best practices in the industry. 


5. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations. 


6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. 


7. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for security management and incident reporting. 


8. A commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in the security industry. 

 

Desired Qualifications

  1. Working or greater knowledge of commonly used intelligence platforms and resources.
  2. Broad geopolitical awareness, knowledge of global events, and cultural sensitivity.
  3. Familiarity with news reporting sources, social media channels, and other channels for real-time monitoring of current events.
  4. Ability to assimilate and effectively leverage new technologies.
