About Us:
Welcome to the brand new Ascension St. Vincent YMCA in Westfield, where our mission is to build a strong community through innovative programs that foster growth, health, and connection. As we launch our new facility, we are looking for a passionate and dynamic Director of Youth Family and Camp to lead and inspire our youth-focused initiatives and family programs.

Position Overview:
As the Director of Youth Family and Camp at our cutting-edge Ascension St. Vincent YMCA in Westfield, you will be at the forefront of creating and managing engaging programs designed to enrich the lives of families and youth in our community. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, you will develop and oversee family programming, homeschool initiatives, community events, and teen activities. Your role will be essential in ensuring successful program execution, participant and volunteer recruitment, and maintaining financial integrity in alignment with our Association goals and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Leadership: Drive the development and management of core programs including Play and Learn, Kids Adventure, Intergenerational Room, Family Events, and Summer Camp, Teaching Kitchen, and Youth & Adult Sports
• Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a dedicated team of paid staff and volunteers, ensuring high-quality program delivery.
• Budget Oversight: Develop and manage program budgets, meeting financial targets, and controlling expenses in consultation with the Executive Director.
• Community Engagement: Represent the YMCA’s goals and policies to the community, fostering strong relationships and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Program Evaluation: Continuously assess and improve programs, introducing new initiatives that meet community needs and align with YMCA objectives.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain accurate department records, oversee equipment and facilities, and contribute to annual campaigns.
• Leadership Presence: Serve as Manager on Duty on a regular rotation, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any immediate needs.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 2-3 years in a similar role with a BA/BS in Child Development, Recreation, Elementary Education, or related field (or equivalent experience). YMCA experience is highly valued!
• Skills: Strong programming skills, especially in youth and family activities, teen programming, and volunteer management. Proficiency in fiscal management, program development, and community engagement is crucial.
• Attributes: Excellent organizational, communication, and supervisory skills with a commitment to building a supportive community environment.
• Flexibility: Ability to connect with various age groups and adapt to a diverse range of responsibilities.
