Join Our Team as a Workforce Development and Career Navigator!

Are you passionate about empowering youth and shaping their future careers? The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Workforce Development and Career Navigator to elevate our Career Development Program (CDP) and make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives.

General Function: Under the guidance of the Association Director of Youth Empowerment, the Workforce Development and Career Navigator will spearhead the YMCA’s CDP program, focused on high school students aged 15-19. This exciting role involves implementing and administering comprehensive employment training, career coaching, and job placement services. You'll be the driving force behind recruiting, training, and coaching program participants, ensuring they have quality experiences that align with their academic, personal, and professional goals. By developing and nurturing strategic community partnerships, you’ll enhance the Y’s impact in workforce development and career readiness.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and Inspire: Set the vision for the CDP program, ensuring high-quality standards and effective training resources.
  • Measure Success: Develop and implement evaluation strategies to document participant success and program impact.
  • Ensure Quality: Monitor program fidelity in collaboration with YMCA staff, community partners, and educators.
  • Cultivate Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, volunteers, and community collaboratives.
  • Support Growth: Assist in program expansion as outlined in our Strategic Plan and serve as a liaison for grant management and reporting.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Educational Background: BA/BS degree in human services, social work, education, or a related field.
  • Experience: Preferred 1-2 years in workforce development or career readiness.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
  • Availability: Full-time schedule Monday-Friday, including after-school hours, occasional Saturdays, and summer programming. Periodic travel required.
