Analyst - Corporate Accounting & Consolidation

 

Role Summary

 

Reporting to the Manager - Corporate Accounting & Consolidation, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in the preparation of the close process (monthly, quarterly and annual) at the corporate level
  • Preparing various financial analysis to support the validation of the reported consolidated numbers (consolidated account reconciliations and roll forward, etc.)
  • Assisting in the preparation of consolidated financial statements

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Month-end consolidation process for select entities
  • Collaboration with different teams and sites within the kdc/one group
  • Accounting treatment of group debts - support
  • Financial Statements and MD&A - Workiva
  • Adjusted EBITDA Analysis
  • BS Review – support
  • Preparation of financial statement footnotes
  • Other various analyses

 

Role and Responsibilities

 

Financial Accounting:

  • In a fast-growing environment, contribute to the month-end close process by participating in the review and validation of the financial information submitted by different entities on a monthly basis, in various currencies
  • Prepare journal entries for the consolidated closing process (eliminations, US GAAP adjustments, reclassifications, debts, etc.)
  • Prepare monthly Adjusted EBITDA analysis and ensure compliance with accounting policies

 

Analysis and Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze consolidated roll forward for certain balance sheet accounts
  • Provide support in the implementation of accounting policies (data gathering and analysis, identification of impact on accounting and reporting processes and implementation of solutions)
  • Assist in preparing the structure of financial statements and MD&A in Workiva on a quarterly basis
  • Participate in the annual preparation of financial statement footnotes
  • Provide support in preparing analyses for creditors, shareholders, etc.

 

Financial Control, Policies, and Procedures:

  • Participate in developing and implementing procedures to standardize processes across the group and establish best practices
  • Collaborate in improving and automating various processes to enhance efficiency

 

Requirements

 

Education, Experience, and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Two to three years of relevant experience, particularly in preparing financial statements, consolidation, and related accounting work within a large corporation, accounting firm, and/or similar experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP standards is an asset but not required

 

Soft Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, curiosity, and ability to make appropriate decisions quickly based on experience and professional judgment
  • Solid communication skills (both oral and written) in French and English
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel and ability to quickly learn accounting, financial, and reporting systems and tools
  • Ability to work as part of a team, communicate with all levels of the organization and adapt quickly to change

 

Presence at the Longueuil office is required a minimum of 2 days per week.
