Description / Scope / Mission

Operate various material handling equipment in the movement of raw materials, finished goods and miscellaneous items.

 

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

  1. Exercise good safety practices to prevent accidents to self, others and facilities, and report unsafe conditions to the Production Coordinator.
  2. Receive, transport and store materials following established methods and procedures for stock location, rotation and identification.  This task will involve unloading trailer and use of the computer system.
  3. Stock Production with components following established methods and procedures.
  4. Check for correct identity, quantity and appearance of materials, components, supplies and products.
  5. Prepare complete and accurate records as required.
  6. Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

      up to 1/3 of the time.

  • Walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch; and talk or hear 1/3 to 2/3 of the

      time.

  • Use foot/feet to operate machine 2/3 and more of the time.
  • Up to 10 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
  • Up to 25 pounds to be lifted approximately 6 feet high and carried approximately

                  5-10 feet up to 1/3 of the time.

  • Up to 50 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the 

      left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).

  • Dept perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial

                  relationships).

  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

 

 

Education / Certification / Qualifications / Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience

 

Experience:

  • Some warehouse experience a plus.
  • Basic computer skills and math skills.
  • Read, write and speak basic English language

 

 

Specific Knowledge: (Technical/Product, Organizational and Interpersonal)

  • May lift 50 pounds for up to 15 feet.

  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Forklift 2/3 and more of the time.
  • Computer, scale and drum handlers up to 1/3 of the time.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PPE REQUIRED:

  • Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals up to 1/3 of the time.
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles 1/3 to 2/3 of the time. 
  • Loud noise.
  • Safety (steel-toe) shoes required.
  • Safety glasses required.
  • Miscellaneous PPE as required.
  • Gloves and respiratory required for samplers.
