General Description:

The Quality Assurance Line Inspector I is responsible for conducting both Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions to ensure finished goods are within specification and documentation is complete and correct. Assists in the development, improvement and implementation of current and new processes and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) at all times. Responsible for enforcing
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on the production floor.
  • Identifies product to be produced and complete required forms.
  • Issues product code (s), Line ID tags, fill weights.
  • Performs and documents in-process inspections according to required frequency. 
  • Verifies all components to be used against Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Verifies Equipment Sanitization Tags during first Audit/Inspections.
  • Provides visual line standards prior to line start-up.
  • Creates standards for new finished good items.
  • Compares finished product against line standard and take corrective as needed.
  • Inspects for finished product attributes and ensure that they meet quality standards.
  • Reviews Router Instructions for critical to quality parameters and for filling and assembly instructions.
  • Issues QAR’s.
  • Reports quality problems or finding to Quality management and follow ups to ensure that the correction action has/will take place.
  • Collects all required samples for microbiological testing, chemistry lab, retention, and customer.
  • Accepts or reject finished good product.
  • Other assignments as indicated by Quality Management.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Capable of standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods

Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 1-year experience in Quality Control preferably in cosmetic process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industry.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area. Maintains housekeeping in conformance with, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Full knowledge of working with and troubleshooting Quality Control instrumentation.
  • Good time-management skills and basic math skills.
  • Good English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Advanced PC Knowledge i.e. MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred
  • Flexibility to work long hours during peak season or special schedules as needed to satisfying job requirements.
  • Ability to multi-task and follow through on project assignments
  • Ability to quickly remedy procedural problems
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills 
  • Makes suggestions for improvements
  • Communicates and collaborates with management
