Summary:

 

The Material Control Coordinator is responsible for all functions related to the receiving, picking, staging, auditing and shipping of components and finished goods (FG).  This position also supports the flow of materials issued and returned from production, performs component, and finished goods inventory cycle counts and reconciliations, and issues labels to production in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI). 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for coordinating, organizing, and communicating the receiving, shipping, and material request functions with both internal and external key stakeholders to support production facilities and warehouses.
  • Coordinates and schedules inbound deliveries and outbound shipments with local and regional trucking companies; processes in customer’s inventory portal as applicable.
  • Completes and retains all receiving and shipping documentation and records based on applicable SOPs and WI.
  • Enters process order information in SAP, applies a label to material received, investigates and works with inventory control to reconcile any variances, and coordinates warehouse locations for materials.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the distribution of pick lists to forklift operators based on the production and shipping schedules.
  • Performs the verification of inbound and outbound shipments, inventory accuracy, and movement of material.
  • Operates powered industrial equipment (PIT) in accordance with established safety procedures, completes daily checklists and notifies leadership of any issues that need addressed.
  • Secures and maintains all necessary safety equipment and follows established safety procedures.
  • Performs inventory control cycle counts and assists in investigating inventory related issues.
  • Able to anticipate/identify problems and use available resources to provide effective solutions.
  • Able to act on decisions with the corresponding level of urgency.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Actively encourage and apply lean techniques and processes.
  • Delivers quality and accuracy in own work.
  • Delivers high standards of workplace standards.
  • Performs special assignments as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • 3+ years minimum warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred to be forklift certified; stand up reach/sit down counterbalance.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Computer proficient with ERP and Microsoft Office applications, Strong Excel skills required.
  • Must have strong prioritization skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions including Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions; wear required PPE as needed Safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection; work as part of a team; develop and maintain good working relationships; perform multiple tasks and project simultaneously and manage time efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds manually. 
  • Not a climate-controlled environment except for the office/desk space; the noise level is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer, stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, crouch, talk, hear, push, and pull.
  • Exposure to frequent movement of motorized equipment throughout the facility.
  • Able to work overtime & weekends as required.
