OVERVIEW

The Sr. Category Marketing Manager is a core business driver, and change agent for solutions, process improvements and plans for growth. This role proactively manages marketing strategy and business fundamentals for all Libbey categories (full tabletop). This role is the category business owner, who leads and sets the category strategy, proactively manages revenue and margin, and strives for data driven solutions for growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Lead & Manage the Category Marketing Team:

  • Actively develop the team to deliver impact
  • Lead, influence, and empower the organization to fulfill our purpose (living our legacy, shaping our future, and winning as one)

Base Business Strategy & Planning:

  • Own, develop and execute an end-to-end vision and strategy/plan to grow revenue and margin, aligning with overall business objectives and market trends
  • Develop and manage category strategy, annual operating plan and strategic long-range plan for the core business
  • Stay connected with industry, customer, and consumer trends
  • Proactively develop insightful analysis on critical business issues

Portfolio & Assortment Management

  • Manage ongoing product lifecycle analysis, including process for slow moving, inventory
  • Lead and improve the SKU rationalization process

Monthly Sales Performance Management, Analytics, and Action Plans:

  • Family and Product management and proactive planning with the cross functional team on solutions and action plans
  • Provide input for monthly operating reviews

Lead Quarterly Category Reviews:

  • Deliver an understanding of progress, market changes, drivers and opportunities to address/expand
  • Focus the business on the critical, few things to fix or to share, which impact our overall business results

Commercialization & Go to Market Success:

  • Develop the approach for launches in the market, with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Post-product launch evaluation
  • Create, evaluate, and learn predictive approaches that allow us to better commercialize each launch

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance (RGM or OBPPC) engineering or a related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in successfully driving strategies, plans, programs, and operations to drive revenue growth – category marketing experience is required
  • Experience in managing teams / direct reports
  • Retail, food service and B2B experience
  • Ability to manage budgets, measure marketing activity effectiveness and efficiency to ensure delivering on corporate profitability goals
  • Product or category management experience in a matrix organization preferred
  • Experience managing cross functional initiatives and working effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Pricing strategy and analysis knowledge
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking to business situations
  • Ability to understand and synthesize financial, analytical and insight research to create actionable insights
  • Experience with process, continuous improvement, Agile process, and/or Lean thinking.
  • Tabletop experience (glassware, dinnerware, flatware, serveware) preferred
  • Proven history of success in working independently, meeting project objectives/deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • This position will report to the Sr. Director of Category Marketing and Product Innovation
  • This position will manage 2-6 professional associates – located in the United States and/or Mexico

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires up to 15% of travel, domestic and international
