OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Specialist will provide overall process and compliance administration excellence for the people and HR processes in the United States and Canada business. This role will also be a Human Resources Business Partner to multiple business functions such as, but not limited to: Finance, IT, Project Management and legal.

 

In partnership with the managers and directors of HR, the Human Resources Specialist will be responsible to develop, implement and administer streamlined processes that secure long term succession health in core capabilities, build a self-directed work environment, and improve engagement to drive sustainable performance for the function and the business. They are also accountable to ensure communication and performance management solutions are designed and in place to empower associates to deliver our strategic commitments.

 

This role is a prime opportunity to gain experience across all functions within HR – preparing someone to maximize their generalist development and experience. This role will also provide developmental opportunities to continue to grow and learn in our plant human resources environment, in our corporate functions and within specialized areas of benefits, payroll, HRIS, etc.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic HR business partnership to various business functions.
  • Partners with managers and directors in Human Resources to oversee and participate in special functional or business projects across multiple areas.
  • Partners with compensation to ensure a fit for purpose total rewards strategy, proper job sizing to market (internal, external equity) and administration.
  • Aligns and educates/coaches the leadership requirements to drive cultural and organizational effectiveness goals.
  • Coaches and guides change management efforts within key tactical, strategic, and transformational initiatives and activities.
  • Administers workforce planning solutions, inclusive of succession planning, attraction/retention of talent, training & development, performance management, etc.
  • Leverage and maximize all tools, technology, and resources to attract, develop and retain talent.
  • Administers and optimizes people end-to-end employment administration procedures with partial support of system enablement (core people data management, recruiting/acquisition, hiring / onboarding, terminations / offboarding, compensation management, unemployment management, policy & compliance management, etc.).
  • Leverages people analytics, trends, and insights to drive decision making.
  • Leads, influences, and empowers the organization to fulfill our purpose (living our legacy, shaping our future, and winning as one).

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field is required; with a focus in business or human resources is preferred.
  • 2+ years of HR experience in any HR function (i.e., Recruiting / Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Payroll, Generalist, etc.) is required.
  • Proven experience administering and improving processes is required.
  • Experience communicating with and influencing associates and leaders at various levels, with examples of proven success, is required.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience and a high degree of comfort administering various HR process and finding ways to optimize and simplify them.
  • The candidate should have the ability to learn and navigate different systems, including various HRIS.
  • The candidate should have experience with Microsoft Suite Tools – i.e., Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • The candidate will be willing to grow and learn in various business environments and across multiple areas of HR (manufacturing, corporate; compliance, recruiting, talent management, benefits, systems, etc.).

 

REPORTING, TRAVEL, LOCATION

  • This position will work onsite, with partial remote flexibility (hybrid).
  • The onsite work will be located at our global world headquarters office in Toledo, Ohio.
  • This position will report to the Senior Director of Human Resources.
  • This position will have infrequent travel, 5% or less per year.
