Position Title: Drafter - CAD Designer

Department: Systems – Goose Works

Reports to: Mechanical Engineer

Compensation: Hourly starting range $23 - $35; Commensurate to Skills and Experience

Hours: Full-time: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Maas Energy Works is the leading developer and operator of agricultural waste-to-energy
systems in the United States. The Company designs, develops, constructs, and operates biogas powered renewable energy generation systems on dairy farms. Our projects include anaerobic digesters, biogas-powered electric generation, and renewable natural gas upgrading.

Position Description: 

As a member of the Development team, the CAD Designer will work with engineers, sales personnel, consultants, and customers to produce critical design drawings throughout all project stages. These products may include but are not limited to site plans, pipeline construction drawings, process flow, P&ID, and mechanical drawings. The selected candidate will have keen attention to detail, a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people in various specialties, and a desire to grow personally and professionally. Successful applicants will need to be adaptable, self-driven, and organized.

Responsibilities:

• Design accurate project plans, solid models, and drawings
• Work with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD 3D, Plant 3D, and Inventor
• Understand plant process diagrams and instrumentation
• Manage product files in a clean and organized way
• Think critically to independently troubleshoot design issues
• Collaborate with engineering team on design elements
• Clearly and effectively communicate via written and spoken media
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors and customers

Qualifications & Skills:

• Working experience modeling/drafting using AutoCAD or AutoDesk products
• Familiarity with document revision and control
• Construction or design experience
• Proficiency with DropBox, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience in oil and gas is a preferred but not required
• Technical degree or drafting/design certification is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with ISA 5, ASME Y14 standards is a plus
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
