Network Specialist
Department: Systems
Reports to: Operations Service Manager
Compensation: Hourly starting range $20 - $40, Commensurate to skills and Experience
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm with 30-minute unpaid lunch

Position Description:
Maas Energy Works is seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Specialist to join our Systems to assist build and maintain industrial IT networks. As a Network Specialist, you will play a role in maintaining and optimizing our company's network infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in computer networking to contribute to the success of our organization, and work with our incredible Systems department.
Responsibilities:
- Configuration, installation, and documentation of networked devices
- Drawings, IP Sheets, SOPs, physical and software labeling, cable labeling standards, hardware installation standards
- Device backup and disaster recovery
- Network rack installation best practices
- Crimp patch cable ends and cable management
- Remote management and troubleshooting of computers and network devices

Be able to remotely troubleshoot network connectivity issues

Be able to remotely troubleshoot workstation issues such as connectivity or slowness

- Organization of installation and maintenance schedules, parts acquisition, and inventory management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement network solutions.
- Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular network audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in computer networking.

Qualifications & Skills: The ideal candidate will have experience in the following
- Bachelor's degree or comparable experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field a plus but not required.
- Proven experience as a Network Specialist or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and security software.
- Strong understanding of network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong Administrative skills
- Experience with Firewalls, switches, computers, and point to point radios

- Must be proficient in English

Work Environment
This job mainly operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role with some travel is required. This would require the ability to enter, travel in, and exit vehicles and airplanes.
