2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor

Job description

The 2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor will organize and oversee a team of dock staff during a specified shift to ensure that freight is properly loaded and unloaded to facilitate on-time, error-free deliveries.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists in the training of dock staff.
• Assists in the unloading and loading of freight when necessary.
• Oversee a team of dock associates
• Oversee dock operations to ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of all freight.
• Conducts daily inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and internal laws, regulations, and policies.
• Assist with development and execution of continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform conflict and issue resolution as needed
• Manage daily end-of-shift reports, as well as performance updates
• Work directly with Customer(s), on-site
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and other related safety policies and best practices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to monitor and maintain records (Excel preferred).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous warehouse experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods standing and up to four hours per shift sitting and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in hot and cold climates
