POSITION SUMMARY
 
The Field Electronic Technician will maintain and troubleshoot electronic equipment, controls, and computers used in Oilfield operations. Primary responsibilities include preforming advanced to complex tests, troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, and repairs on electronic and electro-mechanical equipment at field locations.

Key Accountabilities
  • Perform regular and scheduled maintenance on hydraulic fracturing equipment to ensure equipment remains in good working order.
  • Perform repairs on equipment as needed in the field using hand and power tools.
  • Installation and configuration of electronic and electromechanical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components.
  • Suggest improvements for better utilization and operation of equipment and encourage employees to make suggestions and provide feedback.
  • Travel to locations to perform emergency repairs on electronics and equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical problems and troubleshoot how to correct them using wiring schematics, repair manuals, and part catalogs as necessary.
  • Inspect, operate, and test equipment and components to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Test equipment at Manufacturer's facility to ensure that equipment meets company standards prior to being dispatched to the field.
  • Document repairs, inspections, and testing for all equipment.
  • Maintains a safe work environment following all QHSE requirements at all times.
  • Mentor and train less experienced Electronic Technicians.
  • Help train Operations Personnel in the proper use and care of related equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient use of electronic test instruments and tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation such as flow meters, transducers, densimeters and controllers.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient use of OEM software used to configure and troubleshoot related equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic or hydraulic applications as controlled by electronic components and systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical schematics/drawings.
  • Proficient knowledge of data transmission protocols and equipment networking.
  • Radio Communications.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operations instructions and policies/procedures and communicate this information effectively.
  • Ability to write reports and simple correspondence and effectively communicate/present information to groups of coworkers, customers, or members of the management team.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics to perform component troubleshooting.
  • Ability to understand and apply basic electrical theory and circuit principles.
  • Working together in a positive team environment.
  • Ability to promote safety awareness, follow policies & procedures on quality, health, safety & environment.
Minimum Required Work Experience
  • 4-5 years - Required

Licenses and Certifications
  • PAC Premier - Preferred, and
  • CPR Certified - Preferred
