In This Role, You Will:
Actively expand opportunities with existing customers and source and develop new customer accounts through direct sales to meet revenue goals and growth initiatives established by management.
Work collaboratively with other departments to expand Odyssey Europe service offer towards existing and new customers.
Identify and manage customer transportation needs and provide coverage with brokerage to third party carriers.
Develop and maintain relationships with customers, carriers, drivers to meet transportation coverage needs, reach revenue goals, and other company objectives.
Use discretion in the solicitation and acceptance of freight from customers, and the selection of carriers/drivers for freight coverage needs with the objective to maximize profitability.
Discretion and judgement on decisions of what transportation solutions to use for freight coverage needs of customers.
Discretion in sourcing freight from third-party logistics firms, negotiation of rates and load selection.
Provide oversight and guidance to carriers and drivers in the fulfillment of customer freight coverage needs, freight securement and permit requirements of each shipment.
Ensuring that loads are covered and managed timely throughout each stage of the dispatch process.
Provide timely services to customers, carriers, and drivers.
Ensure revenue and margin data is captured accurately and timely for reporting/invoicing purposes, and maximize utilization of systems for more efficient workflow.
Manage and monitor carrier and drivers’ performance, record and report any non-compliance, late deliveries, and provide performance feedback to client and management.
Use discretion and judgement in resolution of customer, carrier and driver related issues to diffuse situations and maintain Company reputation as a professional service provider.
Follow protocol in carrier qualification for brokered loads and follow best practices guidelines.
Provide operational support during vacations, sick days and periods of growth.

Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Transportation and Logistics, Business Management or other related fields.
Previous experience in sales and freight forwarding within the transportation industry and logistics industry is a must.
Experience in freight forwarding chemicals and dangerous goods.
Experience with express shipments, highly customize shipments.
Commercial: a winning attitude, negotiation skills,
Personal Accountability: focus on delivering top quality service to the customers. Punctual and reliable.
Knowledgeable: creating best solutions to meet customer needs.

Location:
This is a hybrid in-office role in Gdańsk, Poland
