SUMMARY

The Production & Warehouse Manager oversees the production and warehouse processes, coordinating all production, shipping, receiving and inventory control activities. This position is responsible for administrating the resources assigned, coordination, collaboration, and control of the manufacturing processes ensuring goods are produced efficiently at the correct amount, and level of quality. This position is responsible for a broad range of duties including, but not limited to safety initiatives, departmental development, environmental activities, and continuous improvement efforts. Is responsible for leading, training and directing Supervisors and/or Team Leads and associates. The role will promote a collaborative environment to ensure effective communication and interaction across departments to achieve business results.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervise and oversees Supervisors, Team leads, and other associates to ensure daily Shipping, Receiving, Assembly, subassembly, Inventory Control and Material Handling are focused to consistently met daily and hourly targets, ensuring production and shipping of products meets specifications, lead time, efficiency, and delivery objectives.
  • Execute the production and shipping schedule daily and the capacity plans, following the priorities and sequences for manufacturing, assigning the required personnel; monitoring and reviewing performance indicators and resolving problems; Asure material availability by managing inventory control cycle counting programs identifying reasons of discrepancies and establishing actions.
  • Manage costs to established goals and budgets to ensure the efficient utilization of machinery, material, and labor resources to meet financial objectives. Communicates and collects shipping and logistics quotations, liaises with inside sales to manage customer and service centers orders.
  • Manages employee performance to establish expectations, monitor, and measure contributions and provide employee feedback, coaching, counseling, and discipline, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting process variables; observing execution of quality controls; monitoring personnel and equipment; updating Work instructions, procedures, and processes; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within processes; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation to solve problems between departments, providing coordination and be the liaison between Operations and other departments as needed.
  • Maintains quality standards by ensuring that all team members follow all work instructions for each product build; Drives and improves SAP system usage. Helps reconfigure systematic changes to help productivity.
  • Creates, revises, and improves processes, procedures, and systems by analyzing operating practices using the lean manufacturing techniques, record-keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirements.
  • Provides manufacturing reports to the Director of Operations by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
  • Enhance the safety culture to create a safe work environment by providing leadership in setting expectations for a safe work environment, by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to cGMP, ISO, QMS, OSHA and other pertinent regulations, directives, policies, and standards by ensuring documented training to process procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience necessary to be successful in this position.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production supervision or manufacturing management with a manufacturing company.
  • Basic knowledge about how a warehouse operates; Shipping, receiving, and cycle counts programs.
  • Experience with managing inventory control and wall-to-wall physical inventory.
  • Strong people skills as a team leader, coach, and a team player.
  • Solid communication skills in listening, clear concise speaking, and sharing company vision and direction resulting in increased employee engagement.
  • Ability to quickly learn technology and improve use of technology to improve productivity and quality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and leadership.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, familiarity with SAP preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO guidelines.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA and other EH&S related standards.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely, creative manner.
  • Ability to generate and adhere to a schedule.
  • Understanding and implementation of 6S and Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing techniques.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • LEAN and/or Six Sigma Experience and certification.
  • Certified Practitioner in Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Experience with SAP Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Movement functionality.
  • Experience with Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations (cGMP)
  • Certified Practitioner in Inventory Management (CPIM).
  • Experience using SAP or another similar ERP system.
  • Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations (cGMP).

  • Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.

 

 

The approximate base compensation range is shown below. The actual offer may vary based on skills, experience and location.
