Summary: 
This position reports to the Plant Manager and breakdown of percentage of duties outlined below:
25% of the time:The Prime contact for all sub-contractors working at the site during and after hours.Supervises, schedules and coordinates subcontractors and trades, in maintaining, repairing and renovating of leased facilities.The scope of this position also includes activating and deactivating security pass cards and maintenance of security equipment
75% of the time:The incumbent is responsible for equipment validation which includes the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all production equipment within the Pembroke facility.The position ensures maximum machine productivity while ensuring the equipment produces the highest degree of Quality output.
Duties & Responsibilities:
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
•    Proactively plans and manages the work to be performed in the maintenance, repair of all equipment, and facility building and exterior grounds; 
•    Primary contact for all service, maintenance contracts, and works with landlords/property managers to ensure quick response to facility needs;
•    Coordinates work with other departments; determines, establishes and publishes priorities to meet work schedules, and provides regular weekly updates; 
•    Manages, directs and schedules day-to-day support activities for assigned properties, and ensures that staff are properly following processes and procedures;
•    Maintain access control system and card database security, onboarding and offboarding, testing and monitoring of system
•    Provides physical and logistical support to internal teams as requested, such as delivering or picking up supplies locally as necessary
•    Receives and investigates complaints, determines appropriate corrective action, takes action to resolve problems, and provides monthly status of open, closed items
•    Oversee or perform building / grounds keeping duties, eg. Salting / shoveling employee entrances prior to contractors arriving
MACHINE MAINTENANCE
•Trouble shooting equipment failures and executing repairs quickly to ensure maximum equipment uptime
•Responsible for ensuring sufficient Spare Parts Inventory are on hand for common failure parts
•Initiating Quotations and Purchase Requisitions for replacement parts as well as Production supplies ex. (machine oil, needles, bobbins) 
•Developing and Fabricating Custom fixtures such as Guarding, Work Aides, Guides, etc.
•Executing and Recording Preventative Maintenance Program for Production Equipment 
•Maintaining and Filing of all Production Equipment Manuals
•Inspect new equipment to ensure what has been received is compliant before it is put into Production ex. (Voltage, CSA compliant, Necessary Guarding is in place)
•Hook up and run off equipment to ensure it complies with our Workmanship Standards
•Set up Machine if necessary to ergonomically suit the Operator
•Maintenance and General repair of carts, work aides, cutting tables, including custom equipment, ex. Chalking table
•Assisting with Production Cell set ups ex. Building airlines, Equipment plugs, helping with equipment moves to ensure the machines are up and running to minimize downtime
HEALTH AND SAFETY
•     
•    An active member or the Health and Safety Committee, taking action to implement corrective actions identified to support Plant H&S 
•    Oversees the preventative maintenance and certification schedules for all facilities equipment – including machinery, ladders, material lifts, hoists, presses, etc. on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, and maintains record history;
•     
FACILITY PROJECTS
•    Interprets specifications and blueprints and explains job orders to subordinates or contractors.
•    Coordinates and reports progress on construction activities to ensure attainment of approved budget and schedule objectives. 
•    Assists facility and Capital equipment budget preparation, tracks actual costs to budget and recommends/implements corrective actions. 
Qualifications:
•    A minimum of a two-year technical college diploma, ie Eletro-Mechanical, Hydraulics or HVAC or equivalent training and experience.
•    Post-secondary consisting Of Mechanical and or Electrical, Sewing Machine Mechanic Technician Certificate Preferred.
•    Basic Computer Skills required.
•    Strong client service experience in a related capacity.
•    Previous facilities, security and property management experience.
•    3-5 years’ experience in a Mechanical / Industrial manufacturing setting.
•    Sewing machine/mechanical experience Preferred.
