Position Summary

Performs clerical, communication and computer duties.  Obtains through proper phlebotomy technique assesses, processes, and distributes specimens from inpatients, outpatients and reference laboratory patients Assesses, and interprets data about patient's status in order to identify each patient's  age-specific needs and provides the appropriate care.  Performs client and vendor billing duties.  Works independently.  Performs all levels of laboratory testing and QC and QI.  Assists in compliance issues and trains new Associates.  Researches, writes and / or validates SOP's.  Maintains all laboratory records.

Education/Other Qualifications

  • Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP,AMT,NCA) registered, equivalent or eligible. 
  • Six months laboratory experience preferred but new graduates will be considered.
  • Associates degree in medical technology from an accredited college/university and completion of a medical technology internship.
