Oncology Nurse Navigator
Position Summary
The Surgical Navigator is a registered nurse who aids patients, families, and caregivers to promote care coordination and remove potential barriers to access of oncology care through the cancer continuum. The oncology navigator ensures that each patient receives comprehensive education to facilitate informed decision making and timely access to high-quality care based on their needs and applicable related condition(s). This person manages the on-going analysis, development, and implementation of methods and systems to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the program’s clinical functions; coordinates patient-specific and community outreach; and is accountable for the surgical specialties program results..

Education, Certifications, Licensure
- Registered Nurse with current unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina
- Minimum of five years recent acute hospital experience
- BSN or Master’s in Related field
- Excellent written communication skills and knowledge of electronic record documentation
- Support group leadership experience preferred
- Must have current BLS
