Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)Job  

General Summary: 

Novant Health is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our medical office team. In this non-exempt role, you will provide direct nursing care in a medical office setting under the supervision of a physician. Your responsibilities will include assistingmedical providers, maintaininga clean and safe environment, and ensuring that patient care is delivered in accordance withNovant Health’s policies and procedures. 

Essential Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Support Mission and Compliance: 

  • Adhere to and support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Novant Health. 

  • Follow Novant Health’s HIPAA Compliance Plan and Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement. 

  • Demonstrate support for Novant Health’s Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct. Adhere to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies affecting job functions, and report compliance issues/concerns promptly. 

  1. Patient Care: 

  • Direct patients to the appropriate exam/treatmentrooms, prepare patients for examinations and procedures, complete History & Physicals (H&Ps), and take vital signs. 

  • Assistphysicians with procedures as directed, including removing sutures, applying steri-strips, collectingand labeling specimens, transporting specimens to the laboratory, and logging biopsy results. Mix medications, administer injections, and perform IV procedures competently. 

  • Instruct patients on appropriate proceduresand care instructions. 

  1. Equipment and Supplies: 

  • Maintain, clean, and/or sterilize medical equipment and instruments. 

  • Order and maintaininventory of supplies, set up stock areas for daily use, and clean exam rooms between patient visits. 

  1. Administrative Duties: 

  • Utilize electronic health records for patient work-upsand assigned tasks. 

  • Evaluate daily schedules to manage patient flow, obtain necessary charts and charge tickets. 

  • Post test results and physician dictation in patient charts, complete charge tickets as needed. 

  • Receive chart requests and arrange transfers to other clinic departments. 

  1. Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Physician Practice Manager or other supervisory staff. 

Education: 

  • High school diploma or GED. 

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program. 

Certification: 

  • Active and Clean South Carolina or Compact LVN/LPN nursing license. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a physician office setting preferred
