Job Description: Business Development Manager

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager serves as a strategic leader and internal consultant for Novant Health, driving complex initiatives that enhance our market presence and operational performance. This role involves close collaboration with Senior and Executive Leaders to establish the rigor and strategic direction necessary for achieving top-tier performance.

The Manager will develop and implement comprehensive business insights and analytics platforms, guiding leaders and teams in identifying growth and revenue opportunities, optimizing value and efficiency, and executing high-priority initiatives. With a focus on results, the Manager will engage in education, tool application, data analysis, project management, mentoring, and leadership development in change management.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute business development strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal leaders and external partners, to drive business objectives.
  • Project Facilitation: Lead complex projects from conception to execution, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and effective stakeholder communication.
  • Performance Optimization: Develop performance metrics and dashboards to track progress and inform decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years in business development, analytics, or consulting, with experience managing complex projects and leading teams.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in data analysis, with the ability to derive actionable insights from large datasets.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Expertise in developing performance dashboards and presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
    • Creative problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
    • Experience in change management and leading teams through transitions.

Communication Skills:

  • Actively engage with stakeholders through dialogue and effective listening.
  • Summarize complex analyses and project outcomes in written and graphical formats for various audiences.
  • Adapt communication styles to suit different leadership levels and stakeholder needs.

  • Simplify complex data to identify key insights and support decision-making.
  • Explore innovative solutions based on thorough analysis and organizational understanding.

Leadership:

  • Lead workforce analytics initiatives, mentoring team members in their professional development.
