Position Title: Market Director of Practice Operations

Position Summary:
The Market Director of Practice Operations is responsible for overseeing all market operations for physician-employed practices. This leadership role involves engaging with team members and stakeholders in a manner that reflects a positive organizational attitude, embodying the Mission, Vision, and Values of Novant Health. The Director will manage the Manager(s) of Market Operations and ensure effective operations across market practices, focusing on key areas such as:

  • Human Resources: Addressing physician HR requirements.
  • Customer Service: Enhancing patient satisfaction and service quality.
  • Financial Oversight: Conducting financial analysis and managing budgets.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to Meaningful Use attestations and compliance with regulatory bodies.

Working closely with hospital A-Teams, the Director will develop and implement new physician opportunities, ensuring practices meet budgeted expectations and comply with industry regulations. Maintaining positive relationships with physicians while balancing operational goals is essential. The Director will also set strategic goals, identify new business lines and revenue streams, and implement cost mitigation strategies, all while ensuring compliance with relevant agencies such as OSHA, CLIA, Medi-Cal, and DHS.

Position Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on managerial experience in a medical practice, encompassing all operational areas, including HR and finance, with demonstrated experience working with physicians and senior executives.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master's Degree preferred. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities with an understanding of group processes, teamwork, and site/cost center management.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to foster effective relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to apply policies and principles to resolve everyday challenges and manage diverse situations.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to analyze and interpret information, making effective recommendations to senior leaders.

Customer Service Responsibilities:
The Market Director will exemplify strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster a constructive and professional work environment. This includes promoting harmonious relationships with team members and stakeholders. All interactions with patients, senior leadership, managers, the public, and physicians will be conducted in a friendly, courteous, and considerate manner. The Director will ensure that all calls are handled promptly and with care, providing assistance and explanations as needed. A commitment to meeting the expectations of both internal and external customers is essential, along with a collaborative approach to identifying problem areas and recommending effective solutions.
