Patient Service Representative for East Cooper Medical Group

Job Title: Patient Service Representative   

General Summary: A position responsible for front office processes in a family clinic. This role requires strong customer service skills with preferred experience in a medical office setting.  

Essential Job Responsibilities:  

• Greet patients entering the physician practice.  

• Answer office phones, schedule appointments, confirm appointments, and rescheduleas necessary.  

• Check in patients, collect accuratepatient demographics, enter data into the electronic system, and verify insurance information.  

• Assistin checking out patients, including processing referrals and scheduling follow-up appointments.  

• Collect co-pays and post charges.  

• Handle charge entry and patient balance processing.  

• Distribute information to patients regardingoffice policies, procedures, and general information about the practice.  

• Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal.  

• Perform additionalresponsibilities as needed.  

Education:High school diploma/GED required; completion of a medical office assistant program preferred.  

Experience: 2 years of experience in customer service preferred;medical office experience preferred.
