Driller Operator

Job Summary:
This position is to ensure drilling operations are executed in accordance with the drilling plan from implementation, completion and abandonment of drill sites. The Driller is responsible for leading the crew and working with the crew in preparing the equipment and site for the drilling operation, setup and breakdown of drilling sites, which includes repetitive bending, lifting and climbing which are done throughout the normal workday. This individual promotes safety, reports safety problems, incidents, accidents, or irregularities. 

Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Ability to work up to 55 hours per week doing physical labor (up to 12 hours per day)
•    Mechanical ability to do minor repairs
•    Conduct pre-trip inspection
•    Set up control zone
•    Perform physical labor, shoveling, drilling debris, and transporting materials using ergonomically correct lifting techniques
•    Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds or more throughout the work day
•    Requires ongoing repetitive motions (including but not limited to bending and twisting throughout the work day)
•    Ability to withstand long periods of standing (field work involves time on feet for work day except for breaks and lunch period)
•    Maintain equipment
•    Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
•    Can direct subordinate employee(s)
•    Maintain all certifications required by the Industry or OSHA 
•    Forklift trained
•    Performs other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 
•    Have a valid Commercial driver’s license (CDL), Class A preferred but not essential, willingness to obtain Class A.
•    Must be willing to travel extensively
•    Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds throughout the day
•    Ability to pass a yearly physical and random drug tests
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills.
•    Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Education and Experience: 
•    High School Diploma or GED

•    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the day
•    Required to wear protective and safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats

Work Environment: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to indoor and outdoor weather conditions and other elements prevalent at the time. Field work often includes uneven and slippery outdoor surfaces.

The noise level in the work environment is typical of machinery noise which can be distracting and loud at times. May be exposed to dust, and fluctuation in outside temperatures.
