Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Facility Grounds, the custodian performs routine building cleaning tasks. Repetitive manual work requiring efficient performance of building cleaning and maintenance duties. Under general supervision on routine, recurring assignments.

This position works second shift, Monday-Friday.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes and buffs floors.
  • Washes windows, doors, screens, blinds, light fixtures, and walls. Climb ladders when necessary.
  • Collects trash, paper and other recyclable materials. 
  • Cleans restrooms, fills soap, towel and tissue dispensers. 
  • Moves furniture as requested.
  • Clean carpet and upholstery using power extraction machine.
  • Operates an auto-scrubbing machine to clean and strip floor surfaces.
  • Utilizes a variety of tools and power equipment.
  • Changes light bulbs.
  • Locks doors and turns lights on and off as necessary.
  • Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture.
  • Shoves snow from stoops and entrance ways when necessary.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in commercial building custodial service and the proper use of chemical and equipment.
  • Valid WI driver's license and adequate insurance as required by County Policy.
