Lead Full Stack Engineer

Standvast is a tech-led Series B startup with a mission to transform the supply chain space with an internally-built fulfillment platform. We fulfill Amazon and Shopify orders for SMB customers, automatic replenishments for high-volume FBA customers, and run omnichannel services for enterprises. In addition to operating a multi-node network, our platform simplifies demand planning, multi-node fulfillment, transportation, and warehousing so that our customers can focus on driving the success of their brands.

Team Description

We are building a world class, remote-first software engineering team to grow the Standvast platform. TDD, observability, devops, SOA, CI/CD, and cloud-first are foundational assumptions. We move rapidly to provide new capabilities to both internal and external customers. You will see your impact directly. Our software engineers work in two-pizza teams with other engineers and product managers to design, implement, and support systems in a modern devops model. We are a Python shop with React front ends.

Role Description

This is an engineering leadership role on our Customer Portal application team. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer with solid knowledge of engineering excellence and modern practices, and is ready to build and lead a team. They may be either management-curious or committed to a technical career track.

Responsibilities

• Balance between writing code and leading the team

• Owning the security, observability/testability, maintainability, and scalability of code written by the team

• Manage a mix of employees and contractors day to day, and plan ahead as necessary to achieve goals

• Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to design and implement new capabilities

• Participate in an oncall rotation

• Travel to our warehouse sites at least twice a year for orientation and planning meetings

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional programming experience

• Proficiency in at least one modern object-oriented programming language in addition to React (coding will be part of the interview process).

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding

• Experience with cloud technologies, AWS preferred

• Supply chain experience preferred but not required (OMS, WMS, Procurement, Transportation)
