Downline Operator I

Pay Rate: $23.00 plus $0.60 shift differential.
Schedule: M-F (varying OT) 2PM -1030PM
2nd Shift Swing

Summary:

This position is responsible for all functions related to operating the packaging equipment to include cleaning (CIP) and sanitizing.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must follow all employee safety, food safety and quality procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Must follow all Safety rules and wear required PPE such as protective gloves, bump caps, hair and beard nets, uniforms, safety shoes and safety glasses.
  • Ability to setup and efficiently operate all downstream packaging equipment.
  • Complete all functions related to cleaning and sanitizing the equipment and the work area.
  • Perform basic Preventative maintenance and trouble shoot basic to moderate operating issues involving packaging equipment.
  • Communicate to your supervisor regarding any problems with the packaging equipment that would hinder production.
  • Responsible for proper shift handoff with oncoming/ outgoing operators.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Will be required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as professionally with other team members.
  • Completes required quality and production inspections, checks, and paperwork in a neat & professional manner.
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of packaging experience; preferably in manufacturing or production environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree.
  • Forklift Certification

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic math skills.


Work Environment: 100% of work is performed in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing / production environment.
