This position/role exists to:

 

  • Lead the evaluation, design, and analysis of SAP tools and solutions that meet business objectives in a complex multi-tier landscape to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Owns and manages SAP Solution Architecture, Testing, Planning, and Execution activities during upgrades and major releases with multiple stakeholders.
  • Owns and manages roadmaps for SAP development and Change and Release Management tools.

 

The key customers of this position include but are not limited to:

 

  • All functional Enterprise Application Services (EAS) areas.
  • EAS Lead Team for standards, roadmaps, and project milestones during key upgrades and releases.

 

The key actions, outputs, deliverable, products and Services include:

  • Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and documents all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Validate solutions defined by functional applications teams for efficiency and overall alignment to the SAP landscape.
  • Maintain close contact with SAP regarding solution assistance and technical guidance.
  • Research complex application/System integration issues with functional teams; examine integration between various systems (SAP and non-SAP).
  • Architect activities during upgrades and major releases with multiple stakeholders.
  • Identify and drive the adoption of new SAP technologies that meet the goals of the business for functionality and process standardization.
  • Create detailed solution documentation and presentations.
  • Lead the definition of the solution road map, integrating multiple disparate processes, and addressing short and long-term organizational needs.

 

The key Accountabilities (outcomes) and Actions of this position include:

 

  • Establishes the vision, mission, and strategy for effective and efficient technical. design processes for custom SAP solutions.
  • Builds relationships with functional and enterprise service partners.
  • Design and build enterprise systems to support development processes.  
  • Align designs with infrastructure and security strategies.
  • Research and make recommendations for alternative sourcing (MSP vs internal).
  • Participate and lead cross functional teams as needed.
  • Manage technical roadmap for tools and services.

 

The external environment, including technology, competition, markets:

  • Maintaining close contact with SAP regarding solution assistance and technical guidance.
  • Interacting with business group representatives to identify emerging trends and technologies in their areas.
  • Constant ongoing learning in all applicable platforms and their corresponding tool sets.
  • Constant introduction of disruptive technologies and new processes to the development platforms.

 

The internal environment, including interaction with others, (both inside and outside the company) policies/practices:

  • Global business environments and requirements change often.

  • Ability to lead and drive work and task teams across multiple IT organizations.
  • Collaborating with development resources across multiple companies in different geographical regions and time zones.

  • Integrations across various systems, internal and external, custom and off-the-shelf.

The scope and impact of this position on the business includes:

 

  • Interact with all functional EAS teams and Managed Service Providers on a regular basis to ensure existing and new solutions adhere to architecture, security, and development standards.
  • Lead design and technical implementation discussions with third party vendors.
