Sumter Sheet Converting Facility Human Resources Administrator
PL 4; starting base salary in the mid 50’s commensurate with relevant experience, education, and training.
Sumter’s HR Administrator supports approximately 125+ employees in a plant with High Performance Work Systems. This “hands-on” position requires significant interaction and visibility to all levels of the organization, departments, and all shifts in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include administering people and payroll processes for Sumter team members, from selection through retirement and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements while ensuring a positive team member experience.

- demonstrated ability to facilitate team member concerns to resolution
- Demonstrated use of computer tools for trending, analysis, and reporting:
- strong computer experience using Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
- track, organize, analyze and report data for leaders to make key people decisions
- Demonstrated conscientious work ethic:
- continuously monitoring people processes to avoid delays for team members
- take laptop home with VPN access; carry company phone to respond to people issues outside regular work hours when needed
- availability to move people processes forward evenings and weekends when needed; work overtime when needed

Preferred Qualifications Include:
3+ years HR experience:
- experience with Ceridian Dayforce or a similar HRIS system
- Administration of employee leave processes through a third party administrator (i.e., FMLA, sick leave/salary continuation, etc.)
- administration of recruiting and selection processes, promotion processes, performance management systems, people policy administration, and workforce planning
- experience tracking people processes and sharing information with management
- maintenance of human resources record retention requirements based on Records Retention Compliance
- proactively audit personnel administrative steps, policy and procedure application and reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Sylvamo core values. Keeps abreast of employment related regulatory provisions.
- interpret and answer inquires related to HR policies and procedures, and counsel and educate team members while ensuring consistency and reinforcing adherence as appropriate
- balance daily administration of people processes with intense preparation, support and administration of infrequently occurring people processes, both planned and unplanned (ex: regulatory audits, affirmative action, business people projects and requests for information, people reviews, forecasting/budgeting, etc.)
- work with and through third party administrators of benefits and people processes; support HR Reps and team members and escalate cases as needed
- experience working in a union free 24/7 manufacturing environment
- experience working at a site with high performance work systems
- develop, propose and implement people related work system improvements
- Responsibility for HR projects as assigned
- Relevant post high school education; degree, certification, or training (ex: Office Administration, HR, SHRM, CEBs, Employee Relations, Ceridian Dayforce, ADA, FMLA, time and attendance system, etc.)
