Machine Set Up Specialists-2nd and 3rd Shifts

POSITION SUMMARY

With limited direction or supervision, the Set Up Specialist will complete set ups and change overs on the assigned machines.  The Set Up Specialist will posses the skills necessary to maintain production requirements and quality standards while working in a team environment. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete all required paperwork, including quality checks.
• Remove and Install Punch & Die Packs, Transfer, and Dies as needed.
• Adjust machine as needed
• Train team members on all work standards.
• Conduct all required audits (5S, Production Analysis, Std. Work, etc.).
• Fine tune changeover and get good parts.
• Maintain clean, orderly work area.
• Perform equipment startup/shut down procedures. 
• Set-up and operate equipment as required.
• Perform first piece inspection, monitor the quality of all parts, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Perform the duties required to record data for SPC, ISO/QS documentation including scanning and tagging.
• Verify clean out of conveyors, catch point areas, etc.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oil changes and tightening of bolts.
• Suggest process improvement ideas.
• Assist other operators as needed

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

• Ability to use all gages and gaging techniques required.
• Math skills to read and interpret blue prints, gaging and SPC. 
• Ability to set-up and operate one or more sizes/types of manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to consistently meet production and quality standards
• Leadership and the ability to train others.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, including written communication as needed.
