Job Summary

KDC/One Acupac is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Production and Inventory Planning to oversee and manage all aspects of our production and inventory operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for materials and production planning, inventory control, procurement, maintaining Bill of Materials (BOM) standards and routers, costing, and demand forecasting. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to supervise a team, including a Production Scheduler/Buyer and an Inventory Analyst.

What You Will Do

Develop and implement materials and production plans to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing processes.

Coordinate with various departments to align production schedules with demand forecasts and inventory levels.

Oversee inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and minimize stockouts.

Implement best practices for inventory accuracy and control, including regular audits and cycle counts.

Manage the procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.

Ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials and services required for production.

Ensure accurate maintenance of Bill of Materials (BOM) and production routers.

Update and review BOMs and routers regularly to reflect changes in production processes or materials.

Oversee product costing activities, including preparing quotes and re-pricing as needed.

Analyze cost data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.

Lead initiatives to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the ERP (QAD) system.

Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement system improvements and troubleshoot issues.

Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts to support production planning and inventory management.

Utilize forecasting tools and techniques to predict future demand trends and adjust plans accordingly.

Apply strong analytical skills to evaluate performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.

Generate reports and provide insights to support decision-making processes.

Supervise and provide guidance to the Production Scheduler/Buyer and Inventory Analyst.

Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, encouraging professional growth and development.

Required Skills

Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize processes, forecast demand, and manage inventory effectively.

Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges, resolve issues related to production delays, supplier disruptions, or inventory shortages, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

Proficiency in negotiation techniques to establish favorable terms with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and resolve conflicts, ensuring cost savings and maintaining positive supplier relationships.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal teams, external suppliers, and stakeholders, articulate strategies, and convey complex information clearly and concisely.

Strong leadership qualities to inspire and motivate the team, foster a collaborative work environment, and lead by example, driving continuous improvement and achieving operational excellence.

Proficiency in project management methodologies to oversee projects, set timelines, allocate resources, and ensure successful execution within budget and schedule constraints.

Keen attention to detail to oversee inventory accuracy, monitor production schedules, and ensure compliance with quality standards, minimizing errors and ensuring product integrity.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapt to changing priorities, and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, inventory management, or a related field.

Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly QAD.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams.

Certification in management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPIM) is a plus.
