OVERVIEW
Seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Distribution Center Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our distribution center operations and ensuring efficient supply chain management.
This is a 1st shift position. Candidates must be able to work Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wave Planning:
- Plan and execute order waves to optimize picking, packing, and shipping processes
- Balance workload across different areas of the distribution center
- Transportation Scheduling:
- Schedule inbound and outbound transportation
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
- Container Management:
- Coordinate inbound container unload scheduling
- Manage container yard operations and inventory
- Carrier Performance:
- Track and analyze carrier performance metrics
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Team Coordination:
- Collaborate with warehouse staff, transportation providers, and other departments
- Facilitate clear communication between all parties involved in logistics operations
- Reporting and Analytics:
- Generate and analyze reports on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements
- Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field desired
- 3+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and/or transportation management systems (TMS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
- APICS or CSCMP certification, preferred
- Experience with lean management principles, preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
- Ability to work in various temperature-controlled environments
