Distribution Center Logistics Coordinator

OVERVIEW

Seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Distribution Center Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our distribution center operations and ensuring efficient supply chain management.

This is a 1st shift position. Candidates must be able to work Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Wave Planning:
    • Plan and execute order waves to optimize picking, packing, and shipping processes
    • Balance workload across different areas of the distribution center
  • Transportation Scheduling:
    • Schedule inbound and outbound transportation
    • Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
  • Container Management:
    • Coordinate inbound container unload scheduling
    • Manage container yard operations and inventory 
  • Carrier Performance:
    • Track and analyze carrier performance metrics
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
  • Team Coordination:
    • Collaborate with warehouse staff, transportation providers, and other departments
    • Facilitate clear communication between all parties involved in logistics operations
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    • Generate and analyze reports on key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies
    • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field desired 
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and/or transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
  • APICS or CSCMP certification, preferred 
  • Experience with lean management principles, preferred 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to work in various temperature-controlled environments
