Compliance Associate

 

Job Description

The Compliance Associate is responsible for providing administrative support to the Sr. Director Compliance Regulatory Affairs to ensure the successful maintenance of the corporate compliance program for domestic and foreign assets and partners, and to ensure conformity with Canadian, American and International Laws and Regulations.

 

Tasks, without being limited to, include:

  • Develop high level of knowledge of mandatory and voluntary international regulatory requirements and retailer regulations in order to assist in the development, implementation and auditing of internal Policies and Procedures. Including:
    • Liaising with foreign counterparts to support global compliance initiatives
    • Sitting on regulatory body and industry association general meetings
    • Acting as a primary point of contact for retailer program changes
  • Act as primary point of contact for retailer compliance programs, including responding to retailer portal documentation requests, and escalating product safety concerns to the Sr. Director.
  • Coordinate and monitor factory licensing and accreditations to ensure appropriate certifications are acquired and maintained in accordance with jurisdictional needs.
  • Ownership of DHP labelling program for all product categories, collaborating with functional departments in the review of product and packaging labeling, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records documenting expenditures and act as point of contact for governmental invoicing.
  • Act as collection point for internal and external documentation requests
  • Act as a backup to other members of the Compliance team by developing expertise in other product categories.

 

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a support role in regulatory / compliance / testing.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and sharp attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills in English and French.
  • Multi-tasking and working well under pressure in order to meet deadlines is key.
  • Work well individually and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries on a tight deadline and adapt to a shifting regulatory framework.
  • Project Management certifications and experience an asset.
  • Computer: MS Suite, Access, Outlook etc.
